Who are we?

The website Stuitinwest (breech in west) is a joint initiative of the community-midwifery ECV team in Amsterdam West and the midwifery team of the OLVG-West Hospital. We want to guarantee the quality of our care surrounding breech birth and to continually to improve our care.

Project and collaboration

The purpose of this website is to prepare you by giving you clear information regarding the choice of either an ECV and – if necessary – for the possibilities regarding giving birth to a baby in breech position.

This website does not replace the conversation with your midwife or ECV practitioner regarding the choice of an ECV or the conversation with the obstetrician about the ways of giving birth in a breech position.

Details: ECV community team & ECV team OLVG-West

The ECV team of Stuitinwest consists of the community ECV team in Amsterdam West and the hospital team of ECV practitioner from the OLVG-West hospital.

The community ECV team West:

This team is available all week to perform ECV’s at your own ultrasound center or midwifery practice.

The hospital ECV practitioners of the OLVG-West:

They each have a half day per week at the OLVG-West for the performing of ECV’s.

The ECV’s are performed by one or two ECV practitioners. Sometimes a single appointment is enough, sometimes multiple attempts or appointments are required. In consultation with your midwifery care provider, you choose where you want the ECV to be performed, and if a second appointment is required.
